Information and advice for travelling abroad
Travel Vaccinations
We are not able to offer vaccinations required for work purposes. If you are required to relocate or travel for work purposes, please speak to your employer about this.
Woodlands Medical Centre has a limited number of travel appointments available. Appointments are in high demand and are available on a first come, first serve basis so please book well in advance of your planned travel. We recommend allowing as much time as possible prior to planned travel arrangements in order for us to try and schedule you in.
Patients can obtain advice on the vaccinations required for their journey by visiting Travel Health Pro. The travel health pro website will inform you of the relevant vaccinations required, you will then need to fill out a travel health risk assessment form.
Yellow Fever and Rabies Vaccination
Woodlands Medical Centre does not provide Yellow Fever or Rabies vaccinations. The nearest Yellow Fever vaccination service is located at Abingdon Surgery on Stert Street in Abingdon. For a rabies vaccination, you will need to reach out to one of the nearby private clinics.
Malaria Tablets
Malaria tablets are not available on the NHS. Please speak to a pharmacist about malaria prophylaxis.
If you require a prescription for your malaria medication, you will need to contact a private travel service or GP as we are unable to prescribe that at Woodlands Medical Centre.
