Take Part in Research

In 2019/2020, Woodlands Medical Centre attained GOLD Level in Research awarded by the NIHR Thames Valley and South Midlands Clinical Research Network

We are committed to engaging in high quality research, working in conjunction with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the Thames Valley Primary Care Research Network. We work in conjunction with these organisations to help to facilitate clinical research in line the with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guide.

Participation in research is entirely voluntary and you have the right to say ‘No’.  Nobody will put pressure on you to take part in research if you do not wish to.  You do not have to give us a reason if you decide not to take part. Your care and your relationship with your doctor or nurse will not be affected in any way if you decide not to take part in a research study.

research projects

We will never take part in a project unless it is GDPR compliant and has been approved by the Research Ethics & Research Governance Committee. You will be asked to give written consent before any information about you personally is passed to the researcher.

Any queries about the studies being run in the Practice can either be directed to your own GP, or the clinical lead for research, Dr Cheryl Heng.
