Injections

Our nursing team can administer a range of injections. Some of these we keep in stock, and for others you will need to order a prescription, then collect it from your local pharmacy and bring it to your appointment.

Please have a look at the list below to check what you will need to do.

Vitamin B12

We have this in stock. Contact reception and ask for a B12 injection appointment.

Depo-Provera (Contraception)

We have this in stock. Contact reception to request an appointment. There is now a version available that you can inject at home. Please ask the nurse if you would be interested in this.

Denosumab / Prolia (for Osteoporosis)

We don't have this in stock. Please follow the process below:

  • 1 month before your next injection is due, please make an appointment for a blood test in the next 2 weeks.
  • 1 week after your blood test, please phone reception to check that the results are ok and that the injection has been sent to your pharmacy.
  • Collect the injection from the pharmacy and bring it to your appointment.
  • Denosumab can be stored out of the fridge for 1 month.

GnRH analogues (for Endometriosis or Prostate Cancer)

Brands include Prostap, Zoladex, Decapeptyl

We don't stock these drugs. Please request a prescription 2 weeks before your injection is due, and collect it from your pharmacy and bring it to the appointment.

Testosterone injections

We don't stock testosterone. Please request a prescription 2 weeks before your injection is due, and collect it from your pharmacy and bring it to the appointment.

The nurse administering your injection will let you know when the next one is due. We don't have an automated reminder system, so it is important that you make a note of this and book the next appointment at the appropriate time.
