Other services also available at Woodlands include:
Child Health
We offer a regular programme of child health reviews. You will be invited to bring your child at the ages of 8 weeks, 8-12 months and two years. Child immunisations are by appointment for the first baby immunisation and for the pre-school immunisation as your child must be checked by a GP. All other immunisations are given by our practice nurse. It is advisable to make an appointment for these as well. The most important thing is to ensure your child is fully immunised. The Health Visiting team provide a clinic at All Saints School every Friday between 10:00 and 12:00 for help and advice regarding your child.
Childhood Vaccination
We offer a regular programme of child health reviews. You will be invited to bring your child at the ages of 6, 8, 12 and 16 weeks, 12 months and three years. We also offer seasonal flu sniffs for pre-school children.
If you want some advice on the health of your child, you can text the ChatHealth line.
Seasonal Flu Vaccinations
We offer an annual flu vaccination in line with NHS recommendations. This is usually available between September and December each year. We will contact you and off you an appointment when we have our vaccinations in stock.
Maternity Services
From 1st July pregnant patients can arrange an appointment with a midwife directly as soon as they know they are pregnant.
This is in line with national guidance on maternity care aimed at ensuring quality and continuity.
They do not need a doctor’s appointment if they want to book in to antenatal care. Patients can call the Midwifery team based in Walingford on 01491 826037
